6 TOP BEST AND AMAZING PLACES TO VISIT IN MUNICH GERMANY

Munich is both a famous tourist destination and a terrific place to meet. Also important are the publishing of books, printing, and the making of television shows.

- MARIENPLATZ
Begin your Munich trip at the city center. The Marienplatz (Our Lady’s Square), with its majestic neo-gothic city hall (“Neues Rathaus”), is one of the city’s top photography locations. Every day at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., the massive carillon is activated. The Munich Glockenspiel is the largest in Germany, and the square is very packed around these times (with good cause). There are many classic restaurants and stores around the Marienplatz, but it’s not a spot where locals hang out or eat (though you could like lunch at the Rathaus Keller located below the city hall).
- MUNICH RESIDENCE PALACE
For 400 years, the Münchner Residenz has served as the house of Bavarian kings, prince-electors, and dukes. The spectacular Antiquarium and the Ancestor Gallery are most likely the most popular sections. I must tell you, but, that the House Palace is a true maze that will take you roughly 4 hours to complete. The amazing Nibelung halls on the ground level are easy to view, but if you see the sign, go downstairs and they will blow your mind!
- BAVARIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM
Bavaria has a rich and illustrious history. The Wittelsbacher family has ruled my homeland for nearly as long as anyone has ever known. They amassed an immense fortune over the years, which became the assets of the Bavarian State after World War I. The Bavarian National Museum is a must-see for anybody interested in the fascinating history of Bavaria. It’s not a dull history museum with dusty cases, but rather an arts and design collection. Ivory, porcelain, furniture, and other exceptional objects of art from the previous 1,000 years are on display in beautiful and modern exhibition galleries. It’s the best gallery in Munich since it’s so diverse.
- ALTE PINAKOTHEK
Did you realize that? Munich has become one of the largest and most prominent art centers in the entire globe. There are over 100 museums located around Bavaria’s city. Not all of them are world-renowned, but the Alte Pinakothek in Munich’s art district is a must-see. It is Munich’s oldest museum and houses an extraordinary collection of old masters from Germany, Italy, and Flanders. On the bottom level, they generally offer a fantastic special display that is worth seeing. So, before you go, look it up on the official website. The New Pinakothek is next door, but, it will be until at least 2022 (thus its absence from this list).
- BMW WORLD & MUSEUM
Munich is well-known for more than its beer, fairy-tale castles, and leather trousers. The BMW headquarters are also located in the city’s northwestern outskirts. You can’t approach the renowned cylindrical BWM towers as a tourist, but you may visit the BWM world and museum next to it. The BMW Welt is an architectural marvel that also happens to be one of the few free things to do in Munich. You should not miss it if you are a car enthusiast.
- NYMPHENBURG PALACE
Do you want to know where my favorite place to visit in Munich is? It’s known as the Nymphenburg Palace. The Bavarian kings’ and prince-electors’ vacation palace is breathtaking. While the palace is lovely, I prefer the park behind it. There are a few lesser palaces sprinkled over the terrain, and each one is a wonderful gem worth seeing. The Pagodenburg, Amalienburg, and Brandenburg (a bathing palace, can you believe it?)
